SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP/CBS Sports 1140) — A new bloodline is blooming in the capitol city’s basketball organization as the new Sacramento Kings coach Michael Malone has officially hired his father as one of his assistants. The good news for Kings fans is that this family has over sixty years of combined basketball coaching experience.
The team announced the addition of Brendan Malone to the coaching staff on Tuesday. Michael Malone had said when he was hired that he planned to hire his father.
“I’m excited to add a coach with the breadth of basketball knowledge my father provides,” said Kings Head Coach Michael Malone. “Aside from the benefits of having a trusted family member by my side, he’s a talented coach who brings more than 25 years of invaluable NBA experience to Sacramento.”
